Apologizing well is an essential life skill; it requires a considerable level of emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence involves self-awareness, self-management, interpersonal awareness, and the ability to build positive interpersonal relationships. Good apologies require us to know our own hearts and minds, to truly hear others, to control our own impulses, and to behave in ways that engender trust and good will.
