Although you might be more inclined to relax and forget the norms of proper meeting etiquette when you’re on camera in the comfort of your home office, it’s still important to present a professional image to your colleagues, even in a virtual environment.

4. Typing While You’re Not Muted

One faux pas that is very irritating and disrespectful is having your microphone off mute while you’re typing, perhaps responding to an urgent email. When you are looking down and typing on your computer, you are not present, and everyone knows it! The solution is to briefly turn off your camera and your microphone. You can even put an apology into the chat and say you will be right back.
